I'm super excited for the game, so this isn't meant as negativity at all when I say it, but I just really hope Rook has as much customization for the personality as the devs are leading us to believe. Like? I really wanna create MY character. I wanna feel like who my character is is a different person from who someone else's Rook is, as opposed to it feeling like it's always the same character but just having different moods, if that makes sense.

smth abt the shadows of youth that i can't get over is the fact that the king rlly looked @ lance this newly grieving child and thought the best thing for him in that moment was to ship him off to fucking military school lol
he rlly said surely me doing this won't traumatize him any further, resulting in him harboring some unspoken resentment towards me and some part of him believing that i made his life worse actually thereby tainting our relationship later on
ofc not ik what's best for him, this is a good course of action actually

I was trying to think of why this made sense to me- the fact that the mimic is intended to be a larger threat but Ennard still had more impact/presence. I think the biggest issue is buildup, or lack of.
I mean, in sister location you spend the whole game avoiding the animatronics while also causing or witnessing the horrible things they go through, you're able to feel some level of sympathy for them. Though for some people that may just make them even more of a threat considering they obviously want revenge. Even though you were being lied to when led there, you get a sense that you still know these characters through the interactions you've had with them, genuine or not. Everything that happened up to this point still matters and gives you a reason to think back.
As much as I have tried to make theories or analysis on the mimic based on the lines we're given.. It doesn't really do the same. The majority of its voice lines as gregory (so basically all of its voice lines..) are just irrelevant "do this thing for me" that's completely skippable in the long run. Sure it's pretending to be a scared kid but we can't really gather any of its own emotions through that because not only are we unsure if there's any genuine thoughts there, but the dialogue focuses so closely on the goal we get no real characterization out of it like 90% of the time.
At least when Baby (or at least her voice?) was guiding you she still had moments where she gave small information, or sarcastic remarks, etc. Things that not only build the story but also show how the character reacts to these subjects. Her seemingly passive aggressive attitude towards Ballora, how passive aggressive she acts towards Mike on Night 4 in the spring lock suit, sure she tells you your goal and the game mechanics, but she also does so much more than that. I know people tend to complain about how Sister location is like 70% dialogue (or more depending how biased you are on the subject) but that dialogue at least serves a purpose! There's still plenty to be analyzed there and work off of, not only do we get pieces of lore from it.. (baby's thoughts on the scooper, the mention of the springlock suit and it "not being used the way it was meant to be used," her dialogue about the day Elizabeth died, characterization through her tone of voice or sarcastic remarks, etc!) But depending on how far you look into it you can get at least a baseline understanding of the characters and their goals.
But the mimic..? Look, you can check the post I've made about it before, I've tried analyzing his voice lines to see if they hold any purpose beyond just guiding you, and honestly? I'm grasping at straws on most of it. A lot of it is pretty irrelevant, I think I only found maybe 4-6 voice lines that matter? And I definitely had to do some reaching to find any potential ties to if anything the mimic said mattered to itself or to gregory, and while I stand by my analysis of it potentially giving us more information about what happened to Gregory down there.. not only does the dialogue barely give us any new information that the environmental clues didn't (backpack, handprint on the vent, etc.) But it doesn't develop the mimic. It develops Gregory. Which, hello, Gregory's one of my favorite characters lol, I'd be happy about that, but for the mimic itself? That's really bad. It makes it feel like everything you've done up until this point is meaningless development-wise. Once it's revealed you're not saving Gregory, it's kinda like, well, what was the point? I'm not talking generally- obviously the mimic being freed is supposed to be bad, but my point is that there's not a lot to look back on and feel like it served a purpose towards building up the ending. Sure you can look back and say "Oh yeah that makes sense, Gregory was kind of whining a lot more than Security Breach." but that's not really enough to justify it? Going into this a LOT of people were already theorizing it wasn't Gregory. Popular opinion at the time seemed to be that it was Vanny or Glitchtrap or Burntrap or whatever. That it tied into a previous villian using Gregory as a lure to get a new victim, someone else to trap into their plans. And that was cool honestly, I might've even preferred it! At least Glitchtrap has BEEN built up as a villain (I mean, I wish he had more screentime and all, but there was development even if it could've been expanded on.) and whether or not the Princess Quest ending is canon it still could've worked, using Cassie as a replacement for Vanessa. Though it may have been a bit repetitive plot-wise, it was a cool idea at least, besides it's not too different from what people are theorizing the current ending means.. Okay, i got sidetracked a bit. Point is, the theories people had at the time, they led somewhere! the twist of it not being the real Gregory isn't really enough to justify all this because 1. most people saw it coming and 2. even if you didn't see it coming, you can't really look back on the experience and feel like there's any new information to be given from it.. For there to be so much buildup for this, for most people to already be actively wondering what was using Gregory's voice and why, only for it to be.. a character the majority of the fanbase would be unaware of due to it only existing within the books up until this point. For anyone who didn't read the books (which is most people) this reveal was likely going to be unsatisfying, to say the least. Hoping for an answer and only getting more questions in return. That's not new for this series, sure, but it can be a bit disappointing at times. Depending on who you are and how that kind of ending makes you feel, I think most people can at least agree the way it was executed would've left people with mixed reactions.
Even if you did read the books, it still didn't really answer anything, did it? Sure, okay, the mimic is here. Now what? Is it the same mimic with the same backstory as the books? Are we gonna be twisting the backstory from the book universe to the games universe? What does any of this have to do with the story that was built up so far? From my perspective, it seems just as out of nowhere as if Eleanor was dropped into the next game. Most people would only know her as the villain of one specific story in the books, and for a one-off villain to suddenly be inserted into the plot instead of the villain we've actually been fighting this whole time.. it just comes out of nowhere, it really does. And all that gets twisted up even more with the question of how the mimic connects to glitchtrap. It's either replacing a pre-established villain and saying "it was this guy we know next to nothing about the whole time!" which is just really unsatisfying because it once again feels like everything up until this point has meant nothing, because there is no solid connection to tie the mimic to glitchtrap in a way that makes it feel, y'know, connected? They feel like two separate entities, whether they are or not, it's still unsatisfying. And even if they are two separate entities, then it's killing off Glitchtrap, a pre-established villain that posed a solid threat with semi-understandable motives.. for this wild card that hasn't been established whatsoever within the games. It feels like killing off glitchtrap in the middle of his arc because people got tired of him before he even got to do much. It felt like glitchtrap was still building up in my opinion, only for them to suddenly get rid of him. Once again, it makes everything feel pointless. I think the TLDR here is that Ennard served a purpose, even if the things they did were to trick you, it wasn't for nothing. You could still get pieces of lore, characterization, and motives from your previous interactions. But the mimic doesn't have any of that. It has basically no established motive besides "use Gregory's voice to let me out" and then what? Get out to the larger world? just kill people for fun or get revenge on specific people? What does it want from there? We don't know, which makes it difficult to care. On top of all that its previous interactions do feel like they were for nothing, there's very little to be analyzed from them and it just feels like a waste. It was all a trick, so, why does any of it matter? There's very little to be taken away from it beyond the fact that it's fake.

decentering men and recentering urself⋆.ೃ࿔*:・💅🏽💓
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the secret to decentering men and not having ur entire world revolving around them (bcuz it should be revolving around you, duh) is having a fulfilling life. it makes me ICK so bad when im watching a video or reading a post and im rly loving it, and then it'll find SOME way to make it revolve around men. like can we not?…💬🎀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHY WE CENTER THE OPPOSITE SEX ;
a lot of people find themselves centering their lives around the opposite sex in an attempt to fill a void within themselves. they do it because they aren't happy with themselves or their lives, or maybe its learned behavior. whatever the reason is, its NOT hot.
some things that someone who centers men might think are "oh my life is so boring, maybe it would be spiced up if i got with a man" or "maybe it'll bring some excitement into my day" like EUGHHH. obviously the solution is to find ways to make our lives fulfilling but how do we do that? and how do we get to the root cause and squash this self sabotaging behavior?
SELF AWARENESS ;
if u have nothing going on for u, ofc ur gonna be energetically desperate and accepting anything and EVERYTHING. practice self awareness and try to get to the root cause of why u center men through things like shadow work, therapy, or just straight up having an honest conversation with urself cuz i swear it helps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
when you make the conscious effort to build ur dream life you'll notice that people that are on the same mindset as you will vibe with the REAL you. the need to fake/adjust urself to fit in with other people will dissipate because ur fitting into ur own standards and ur connections will be more meaningful because of it.
TAKE UR POWER BACK ;
no ones actions should ruin ur day or make u upset for more then a day (even less) cuz its YOUR world. 💕🍰
make time for YOU, doll. plan self care routines for urself every week. doing face masks, journalling, vision boarding, WHATEVER U LIKE TO DO. making time for urself reminds u that ur the main character of ur life so u dont have to settle for crumbs.
stop giving that power to someone else and dictate how u feel, NOT the actions of a significant other or the opposite sex or anybody. the reason why its important to make sure that ur the center of ur own life is so that you can be happy and fulfilled regardless of if there is a man or if there isnt a man present. so the objective is to decenter men -> and then put yourself at the center
GET A HOBBY ;
find something to make ur life fulfilling. pursue ur OWN interests and try out different hobbies if ur unsure of what ur interests are yet. cultivate ur world to the point where it GLEAMS with perfection and then do a little extra. build a life that u love so much that whether u get male attention or validation doesnt even matter cuz their opinions have little to no relevance 💀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
challenge yourself: next time you catch yourself thinking, ‘would a guy like this?’ flip it and ask urself "hey, do i like this?" start checking with yourself first instead of checking with others.
MAKING THE DECISION TO DECENTER MEN ;
decentering men simply means that ur deciding to no longer think, feel, act, dress, or plan ur life around a man or for the validation of any man…💬🎀
relationships will actually get BETTER when u decenter the opposite sex. cuz ur not looking for someone to compete with and ur whole on ur own. this sets the stage for balance and mutual respect and THATS hot.
you can be in a relationship and still decenter men. decentering men simply means that you are the priority, not the relationship. how can we tell if we're decentering men or not? here are a few questions to help you know if u are ->
if i did not care about looking good to the opposite sex what would i actually like to wear?
if i did not get married, how could i create the best and most abundant life for myself?
what hobbies/interests do i have that dont involve being around men/have male attention as a component of it?

dad activities ☆ stray kids hyung line
tags. fluff, headcanons. fem!reader. note. long time no update... (nervous giggles.) maknae line soon. enjoy <3
Tumblr media
BANG CHAN...
he's a total girl dad. 100%.
chan is soft-hearted when it comes to his little girl. a glance of her puppy eyes and he'll surrender himself completely to her.
often times, you'll find chan sitting cross-legged with little ha-eun on a stool, giving your husband a makeover. no matter what ha-eun does to him, he'll simply let it be — even if she's dabbing a ridiculous coloured eyeshadow on his eyelids and tying a horrendous looking ponytail at the top of his head. if it makes his daughter happy, then he'll entertain it.
you can count on chan to get your daughter ready for school. he's mastered multiple hairstyles! whether it be a french braid or pigtails, chan made sure he's mastered them even before ha-eun was born. he loves preparing his daughter to school, enjoys the morning as he ties up her hair and makes sure she's dressed up nicely.
would not miss any single school event. talent show? sports day? bring your parent day? report card day? he has every event marked on his calendar, and never misses any. all the teachers and moms know him for being so present and sweet.
always has a hairtie on his wrist! ha-eun is a cheeky, cheeky girl — constantly running around. chris makes sure to have a hairtie prepared for moments where the little girl gets tired of her hair sticking to her face and ends up throwing a tantrum. of course, the other hairtie on his wrist is reserved for you. ♡
at the back of his car lays a my melody stuffie. he's proud to have it in his car!! every time someone gets in his car, he proudly says, "oh, that's my daughter's stuffie." the proudest dad around <3
overall, chris is a dependable and sweet dad.
Tumblr media
LEE KNOW...
i see minho as a twin dad. a boy & a girl!!
having twins in the house, pranks become a common occurence. one twin would prank the other, then a revenge comes. it becomes a cycle!! you'd try to stop the prank war going on but it cannot be stopped when minho encourages it!!! sometimes he'll even conspire with the twins to prank you. watch out for the sugar jar as you make coffee because it might actually be salt.
i cannot explain this but he makes weird bento boxes. the typical ones would be of animals, or studio ghibli characters but he makes odd characters that are lowkey terrifying but the kids are so used to it that they're unaffected.
they'll never know what's coming for them when they open their lunchbox. it'll be either yet another jureumi-shaped bento or a weird-looking cat.
leaves cute little notes too! odd, and a bit threatening but cute nevertheless. some of the notes the twins have received range from — "fight back when someone bullies you," or "eat well or don't come home." they're all affectionate, but written in a very lee minho way that you can't help but smile when you read them.
you never have to worry about leaving the kids with minho for a long time. he's got you covered! the twins absolutely adore their dad. would spend an entire day building a fort and watching movies while you're out with your friends.
at the end of the day, when you're back from your outing, you'd come home to the sight of minho and the twins curled up in front of the tv, a studio ghibli movie playing in the background. ♡
Tumblr media
CHANGBIN...
the ultimate boy dad!!
he would totally raise a gentleman. the kind to teach his son that chivalry isn't dead.
would 100% teach his son things like opening the door for other people, helping a senior citizen cross the road, and to carry mommy's grocery bags.
picture this. you're out buying groceries for the week. changbin and mini binnie are wearing matching jerseys & carrying grocery bags for you. so cute <3
would surprise you with your son!!! every single mother's day, he'd wake up early with the little boy to make you pancakes and scrambled eggs. sometimes they end up burnt but truly, it's the thought that counts.
ensures that his son does not forget your birthday!! you best believe that every single birthday you'll be pampered with gifts and handwritten notes from your hubby and son. <3
changbin has chronic dad jokes disorder and unfortunately, his son has inherited it. the little boy will have fun telling you dad jokes that changbin taught him.
also loves to play fight with his kid. you'd be watching tv and they'd be play wrestling in the corner, giggles filling in the house.
Tumblr media
HYUNJIN...
twin dad through and through. a son and a daughter who'd get showered with love <3
hyune's a man of duality. he can go from boy dad to girl dad in one minute.
one moment he's playing soccer with your son in the backyard, giggling as kkami joins in the fun, little barks accompanying laughters.
or he'd be helping the little boy build the coolest train tracks ever. it's so long and loopy, stretches from the living room all the way to the front door.
the next moment he'd be playing tea party with your daughter, learning how to hold a small tea cup with his pinky up.
would end up coming out of the play room with a messy manicure and a tiara on his head. he doesn't complain. might give you a little twirl just to make his little girl happy.
he would even build the prettiest dollhouse for her. it'd be a whole project, would spend days building a dollhouse and they'd have fun painting it together.
i think hyune is the kind to support and encourage his kids to find new hobbies. his son wants to enroll in taekwondo? sure, he'll take the boy to the first class. his daughter wants to try out ballet? he'll sign her up to a class, buy her a tutu and ballet slippers. he's just so supportive <3
often times, he'd take care of the kids while you go out with your girls. you'd come back to him asleep on the couch, while the (very much awake) kids draw on his face with sharpie ^.^
all in all, hyune's a doting, and supportive twin dad. <3

hii !! could u do “let me distract you” w ace?
more aceyuu <3
Tumblr media
summary: "let me distract you" type of post: short fic characters: ace additional info: romantic, reader is gender neutral, reader is yuu author's note: reading this again this is kind of like the scene with epel and deuce in book 5 but it's aceyuu. neat!
Tumblr media
"Really? Now?"
Ace crosses his arms, clearly unhappy with the news. First Deuce with his stupid homework, now you?
You sigh, on your hands and knees, scrubbing soot off the cafeteria floor, the fault of a morning scuffle between two second years.
"I know, I promised to help you with the roses, but Crowley said-"
Crowley. Ace narrows his eyes, cursing under his breath. Now he can't even be mad at you, damn it.
It's not like this is your fault.
He watches you scrub a particularly dark spot. Must've been a direct hit of magic, since it isn't budging.
"This isn't even your mess. I don't see why you have to clean it,"
You sigh. "You could help, you know,"
Damn it. He should've kept his mouth shut.
But, still... you just look so sad. Now Ace feels guilty for getting mad in the first place.
"...You could use a break," he finally says, grabbing you by the wrist and pulling you to your feet.
"Ow," you murmur, massaging your stiff joints. How long have you been doing this, exactly? "And no, I'm not even halfway done."
"Cmon, let me distract you," Ace grins. "You look like you could use it."
"But Crowley-"
"Won't even know. Just five minutes,"
You sigh, almost as if you're... seriously considering his offer... and then you nod. Ace beams and takes ahold of your wrist again.
"Alright, five min- hey!"
He doesn't let you finish your sentence, dragging you out of the cafeteria, through the halls, outside, and past the mirror chamber.
You look over your shoulder, watching the building get smaller and smaller in the distance. "I thought we were-"
"Forget the roses. Riddle will understand," Ace says. "...Probably. Come on."
He drags you to Sam's, loads you up with all the junk he can afford, and finds you a quiet, secluded spot to sit.
"It's been way more than five minutes," you say, unwrapping candy.
Ace shrugs. "So, what? You're gonna go back to cleaning a magic mess without any magic?"
You hang your head, and a long silence follows.
And again, all Ace can feel is guilt. A part of him wishes that he could do more for you.
Then, he huffs. "Crowley's a jerk,"
"He can be," you say under your breath, almost as if you're afraid of someone hearing.
As if anyone would disagree but the man himself.
Ace is quiet, thinking, and then... "Come on, you can do better than that,"
"Ace..."
"What? No one's gonna hear," he grins. "It'll cheer you up."
You sigh, tilting your head to the side. Ace waits, and waits, and just as he's about to change the subject:
"Crowley's a jerk,"
His grin comes back, twice as proud. Though, this time, it's for you.
"Louder, I know you've got it in you,"
"Crowley's a jerk!"
"More!"
"Crowley's a stupid asshole!"
"Woah!" he says, momentarily stunned by your profanity.
Then... he grins. And applauds.
Despite his approval, you still seem embarrassed at your outburst, avoiding his eyes. "...Sorry. Too loud?"
Ace snorts. "No, no, I'm impressed. I could get used to this side of you, you know?"
"...But it's probably good that we skipped on the roses. If Riddle had heard that, he'd have a heart attack."

Park Jihyo - Supermarket Antics
Pairing: Jihyo x fem!reader
Synopsis: Jihyo rarely feels jealousy, so she was definitely not expecting to feel it on the line of the supermarket.
Warnings: I don't think there are any, it's fluff
w/c: 800
a/n: This is my first work! I’m really excited for people to read it! I really appreciate criticism so that I can do better next time, so if you have any please let me know :) English is not my first language, so pls be kind
Also, a million thank yous to my pookie @neoplatinum and to the lovely @cry4mina for the encouragement and for reading it first <33
Tumblr media
Jihyo usually prides herself on not having an ounce of envy and on being confident in her relationship. She was never the jealous type, she knew you loved her as much as she loved you, and there was nothing to be insecure about.
Right now, she can't help but roll her eyes and huff in irritation. She’s watching this little kid stare at her girlfriend with big puppy eyes and a dopey smile.
At first, you both don't notice the younger's antics, too preoccupied with each other. That is until you look to your left and end up locking eyes with the boy.
After noticing that he had your attention, he couldn't help but shy away from your gaze, pressing himself to his dad before shyly looking back at you, making you break into a beautiful smile (something that usually had Jihyo weak in the knees).
A giddy grin spreads across your face before raising your hand and waving your fingers at him, making him blush even more before waving back while hiding himself in his father's legs.
As you keep interacting with the little boy, she watches you silently coo and melt at the boy's cuteness, making her, melt at your behaviour.
Unfortunately for the kid, he also locks eyes with Jihyo but instead of sweet greetings and cute interactions, she can't help but pull a face and wiggle her fingers in a scary-like manner.
Fortunately for her, instead of blushingly hiding into his dad, his eyes widen, and he turns around, no longer having the desire to interact with the older girls.
In no time, the boy was on his way with his dad, and the two of you were in your car on the way home after unloading all the groceries.
"You know I saw that, right?"
Jihyo quickly glances at you, not wanting to take her eyes away from the road for too long, seeing your disapproving glare.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she says innocently.
"You're mean, you know that?" you ask poking her gently.
"C'mon, it's not like I'm gonna give him nightmares! It was harmless, and I'm not even scary," she says, trying to defend herself.
"Maybe it'll help him build character? Know when not to flirt with women?"
You can't help but snort at her childish excuse before bursting into laughter.
"Are you jealous of a little boy smiling at me?"
She scoffs at that.
"And why would I be jealous of a small child?" she asks, repeating that to herself to understand why she tried to scare away the kid.
You only shrugg at that with a small smile still lingering on your face.
After arriving home and unloading everything, she finds herself on the couch with your back pressed against her and her arms surrounding you.
“You know, I only have eyes for you”, you say, turning to face her, making her groan.
“I was not jealous of a child,” she says looking up, avoiding your gaze, making you softly laugh at her antics before kissing her jaw.
After a while of just you both basking in each other’s warmth, you can’t help but quietly laugh again after remembering how she behaved earlier.
“You’re not gonna let this go, are you?” she asks, whining, burying her face into your hair.
“Hm… eventually,” you say, slightly detaching yourself from her and cupping her face gently, leaning in before letting your lips meet hers softly.
She gently holds your neck, pulling you closer, trying to eliminate any space left between you two. You pull away from her lips for air, not far away enough so that your lips stop touching hers, not being able to completely pull away from her touch.
“It’s cute that you’re like this. It’s not every day that I get to see you glaring at someone because you’re not the only one holding my attention, even if that someone is a little boy”
She only pouts at that before stealing another kiss from you, nuzzling into your cheek right after.
“You know… You’re pretty good with kids” she says looking at you with puppy eyes, making you laugh.
“Now you like that I’m good with kids?” you ask her, teasingly pushing her back.
“Well, you know…” she says, now sporting a kind of dopey smile, “just in case in the future you might want to take that route… I think you’d be pretty good at it” she finishes looking sweetly at you, making you melt with the direction of the conversation.
Unable to think about a normal response, you only return her dopey grin and return to your previous position, leaning into her and letting yourself be engulfed by her warmth, with the lingering thought of building a future with the girl who currently holds your entire heart.

Instrumental for song 2 is finished, as are the lyrics (which will be below the cut)!
This introduces us to Martyn's character, as well as to the burdgeoning alliances currently forming (aside from Pearl and Scott, who will be focused on later; and from the Southlands, which have yet to form in the musical timeline).
(ft some anachromisms and contradictions to canon, since I know many of these alliances are formed later and don't interact with Martyn at this point, but I want to introduce them as soon as I can – there won't be time later)
Do note that the claps will be recorded in person, and that a sparser accompaniment generally means more vocal parts (which can't be heard here, since this is just the instrumental track).
(still may be changed on the recording day – lines I'm not sure about will have an asterisk – but currently:)
[music starts]
Martyn (spoken): Four lives? You know what, I’ll take it!
MARTYN Right, here we go again — new world, another start. New chance to see who’ll reach the end, and who will fall apart Well, won’t be me – this time I’ll be the very last to fall No care for cost, I’ll lie, double cross to take it all*
Walls, corners, edges, I’ve been this way before. You’ll be cornered in the corners, and on edge in many more; And walls you’ll build and walls you’ll raise(/raze) and walls will fall in war, Kinship destroyed, so keep it a void you’re fighting for.
So corner to corner, I’ll keep wandering on, Border to border, through woods, through caves, through spawn, Sure, laugh with some, don’t keep it glum, so long as lines are drawn Forego the rest, and don’t invest, just keep on wandering (WATCHER CHORUS: wandering, wandering) on.
[short instrumental]
LIZZIE Welcome, oh welcome to my tree fort, yet unnamed
MARTYN Be careful with that name you pick — don’t want it to get flamed!
LIZZIE (spoken: …Ah) They won’t demean* A fellow green... ...Your lives?
MARTYN That’s mine to know Is that a tower over there? See you, I’ve got to go!
[short instrumental]
TEAM BEST BEST will be the best, and we’ll show em what we got With our matching shields, and our towering snow fort
MARTYN Hold on a sec, where’s your respect?
BDUBS/SKIZZ Respect?
MARTYN Yeah, that’s my bit! Same shields? Snow? A world ago? With Ren and- fine, have it
SCAR/BEST/LIZZIE/MARTYN No matter if you're in your sixes or twos/Let's find some ore to- I'll sell you an offer you/-mine cannot refuse/It'll be the fairy fort!
Crystals for fleeing,/I'm fine just to chat Crystals for flame,/Not falling for that! Survival's the
ALL Name of the game!
SCAR/BEST/LIZZIE/MARTYN Corner to corner, I'll just keep on wandering, wandering on/Yes, join the fairy fort, I'd love to have you here!/BEST will be the best, with our diamonds and our gold*
We can build a secret passageway so we'll always be near!/Put us to the test, and you'll see that we won't fold/A crystal or spell, oh, Joel, you'd help me sell?/Through woods, through caves-
-But still for my sake I probably should find a team: it would do me some-/We'll aid each other when we need, together we will succeed, oh-/Put us to the test and you'll see that we'll do-/Goody!* Magical Mountain we'll be!
ALL (including Cleo, BigB and Joel, who are now onstage with their respective alliances) Good – It's this I've understood!*
UPPER WATCHERS/LOWER WATCHERS Oh, wander, wander on/Wonder, wonder On/When they'll all start to turn tails
Wonder, wonder/Wander, wander When trust will yield to betrayals/On
WATCHERS/MARTYN Till the rest are gone.../Right, here I go again – I'll fight with my axe drawn* Oh, wander, little pawn/But, unlike then... I'll lead, not play a pawn
[instrumental; END]
(note: for the chorus where everyone's overlapping, I haven't heard it with words yet (since I can only sing one part at once) – I will pan it, but if some parts get too crowded/chaotic, I may remove one or two parts. On a stage, everyone would be singing in different groups in different areas, in different ranges, so it would be clearer – but that's not something available to ,e)
----
(end of post, just overlapping lyrics in black, to help with potential eyestrain:
We can build a secret passageway so we'll always be near!/Put us to the test, and you'll see that we won't fold/A crystal or spell, oh, Joel, you'd help me sell?/Through woods, through caves-
-But still for my sake I probably should find a team: it would do me some-/We'll aid each other when we need, together we will succeed, oh-/Put us to the test and you'll see that we'll do-/Goody! Magical Mountain we'll be!

3 Steps to Improve Your Characters and Make Them Three-Dimensional
So I don’t have a process for creating/developing characters (to me the process is intuitive to the point where I wouldn’t even know how to explain it), but I do have a process for revising characters that just… fall flat, for whatever reason.
I like to get to know my characters by throwing them into a bunch of different situations and seeing how they react, but sometimes that’s not enough. In these cases I need to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to make them not feel like a cardboard caricature of the role I need them to fill. Here’s the process I use, and it involves three key questions to understand what makes your character tick.
1) What is this character’s fundamental belief- either about the world or themself?
2) Where does this belief come from?
3) How does this belief hinder them, and are they capable of growing past it?
Alright, here’s what the process looks like in action.
Let’s say I have a character I need to flesh out for my story.
Character A is a middle aged coffee shop owner and the protagonist of her story. The central conflict of the story revolves around trying to save the family run coffee shop she inherited from her father when he passed away, which has recently fallen on hard times.
What is this character's fundamental belief?
Character A believes that the world is an inherently good and fair place. She believes that good is always rewarded and bad is always punished, even if the timing isn't always perfect. As such, she strives to live a virtuous life, putting as much good into the world as she possibly can. While she understands that even good people can face hard times, she believes that in the long term, if things don't work out, it'll be because she didn't put in the work needed to turn things around.
Where does this belief come from?
Character A grew up in a solidly middle class household with good parents that treated her well- rewarding her for good work, and fairly punishing her for misdeeds. Her parents gave her everything she needed, but also expected her to work hard for the things she wanted. She also had the experience of watching her father build a successful business through hard work and by building strong connections with the people in town. If we want to push this further, we could also say that this belief was reaffirmed by watching her brother ruin his own life, squandering all his money and goodwill with those around him on failed get-rich-quick-schemes and outright scams that landed him in jail.
How does this belief hinder them, and are they capable of growing past it?
Let's say that Character A recently hired a barista who seems perfect for the job. Strapped for help, she gets him started right away before getting the results of his background check. When the results come in, she finds out that he is on probation and was recently released from jail for a violent crime. Shocked, she fires him. Believing that people who end up in jail always deserve it, she can't see past her initial prejudices. As a result, her coffee shop suffers from the loss of her new star barista.
Some time goes on, and Character A encounters the barista again, and learns more about the circumstances that landed him in jail (maybe he was falsely convicted, maybe he was battling psychosis, maybe the violent act was done to prevent a loved one- anything that makes her question her initial assumptions). He then confesses that he is struggling to provide for himself and his family because no one will hire him because of his criminal record. Character A comes to realize that her belief isn't completely true, and that the world isn't entirely fair. Though it takes a lot of inner work to do so, including coming to terms with her privilege, she eventually accepts this, and revises her beliefs. She decides that even though the world isn't fair, people have the responsibility to make it fair.
She decides to re-hire the barista she fired. After doing everything she can to make things right with him, she proposes an idea she wants his help with. Together, they transform her family business into a joint coffee shop and community rehabilitation center. In addition to selling coffee, they also launch a program to provide resources to recently incarcerated individuals looking to reenter society. They'll host weekly events on job interview coaching, alcoholics anonymous, motivational speeches, group therapy, opportunities to connect with open-minded employers, and more. Their promotion of this new program enables them to secure funding from local patrons and public grants, and customers are willing to pay for more expensive coffee with the knowledge that that money will be put to good use.
Additionally, if we want to go with the brother in jail backstory, we could have this ending be an opportunity for her to reconnect with him and maybe even repair their relationship as she gets to see him in a new light.
Main Takeaways
And there you have it!
You can use this process on any character- protagonist, antagonist, side character, etc. By grounding your character's motivations and development in their beliefs, you can easily introduce depth and internal conflict while keeping everything connected to the themes and plot driving your story.
Depending on your character's role or your story's plot, the belief can be wide reaching and complex (such as a philosophy or ideology), or specific and personal (such as having to do with their self-esteem). Either way, it should always be tied to their personal experiences or observations. This doesn't necessarily mean a tragic backstory. It could be, but I encourage you not to make this your default way of creating character depth. A mundane but grounded and sincere motivation will always be more compelling than cheap, dark shock factor.
Generally, protagonists with happy endings and villains with successful redemption arcs are capable of moving past their beliefs, while tragic heroes and antagonists aren't, and this failure is usually the source of their downfall. Keep in mind that even if characters do move past their old beliefs, it will always be a difficult thing to do. It will require them to confront their own mistakes, biases, and emotional wounds, and require both internal and external work in order to fix whatever their old beliefs have damaged.
Hopefully this guide will help you approach your characters from a different perspective. Feel free to share any insights.
Happy writing y'all!

All the sims from my girl's only occult orphanage i posted recently. I've been making them for a while now, and i'm currently going through the arduous building of the massive place where they'll live, which i was not prepared for (´。• ◡ •。`) thanks sm for the support on them, i'm happy you guys liked them! Also special thanks to all the cc creators, who idk what i would be without ♡
added some details about them bellow if anyone's interested (it's a wee bit long).
Characters:
Headmaster
Ruby: Despite her stern appearance, she's a lovely person who just wants to motivate the girls into following their goals, since she didn't have the same treatment growing up as an orphan herself. She'll be doing some paranormal investigation on the side, apart from working on her music to support the orphanage. I will allow small monthly donations to the orphanage as well to help her out. Traits: snob / music lover / family oriented
Teens
Anastasia (fairy): While we don't have fairies (yet!), she'll be learning a variety of skills to max level until she's allowed to learn the art of spellcasting. I'm playing the reaper event with her, so she has a few skills already. Traits: paranoid / practice makes perfect.
Ophelia (vampire): She'll be following the good vampire aspiration because she randomized with the vegetarian trait, so it was only fitting. She doesn't want to waste her immortal years being a meanie who's hated by everybody. Traits: vegetarian / cheerful
Luana (werewolf): Will be following the werewolf aspiration so i can explore that pack better, still unsure what her path will be, but i guess it's fun not knowing. Traits: loyal / lazy
Pre-teens
Bug (zombie): Didn't know what i was going to do with her, until my brother told me to do the strangerville mystery, and i thought it was sooo perfect! Traits: goofball / erratic
Hannah (spellcaster): Making her made me a little bit scared, so of course she'll be an untamed witch following the spellcaster aspiration to be a master of evil someday. Traits: hot-headed / evil
Sky (ghost): Died by lightening while saving a snake during a storm one night, and now they're bound forever. I'm still unsure what she'll do, but she'll work on finding a way to either enjoy her death or come back to life. If i get the new EP someday then i might explore it with her, but for now i'm okay having her roaming around. Traits: animal enthusiast / gloomy
Children:
Aloe (plant sim): I'll be checking out the new expanded plantsims mod with her, which is something i've been wanting to check for a while, it looks so fun! Trait: loves outdoors
Vera (elf): Don't know what i'll be doing with her, but, while i figure that out, she'll be doing all the base game aspirations since i haven't done that before, and being a companion in her plant sim friend's journey. Trait: genius
They'll each be doing their own thing while i explore the packs/mods, and i'll try to focus on only one of them for each sim day until they complete their goals and get adopted/moved out. Oh, and aging will be off, cause i don't want to stress myself. I really want to post some gameplay pics of them with no dialogue probably. I'm not a storyteller, so don't expect much 😅 it'll be just for memory keeping. Thanks if you read all this! This was more of a way for me to keep track of things too if i'm being honest.

You are as ever painfully early. It's a habit that often leaves you wandering or hovering awkwardly. You check your watch as you come up to the steps of the century-old building. You are in dread of your physics class but it turns out that all the easy electives fill up fast.
Before you can start the ascent, there's a scuff of steps from the other side. The breadth of the stairs nearly spans a third of the grand facade. You glance over as a young man with a messenger bag rushes up the first few steps only to trip and sprawl over the concrete stairs with an oomph. Without hesitation, you rush over as he groans and clatters back to the bottom.
"Oh my gosh, are you alright?" You scoop up the phone that flew from his hand, seemingly the cause of his accident.
He grunts and struggles to turn himself over, clutching his chest as he can't even get a word out. You know exactly what's happened. You rub his back through his burgundy jacket and give a gentle lat.
"Ah, you're fine, honey, you just got the wind knocked out of ya."
He nods and gulps, a spiral of his reddish brown hair falling down his forehead. His dark eyes meet yours, their panicked sheen softening as his lips tremble in an attempt at a smile.
"Thanks," he rasps at last.
You pull your arm back and offer him your phone.
"That was quite the tumble," you stand straight and extend your hand. He takes it and hauls himself up.
"Yeah, this dang thing," he wiggles his cell and tucks it away in his jacket, "always getting me in trouble."
You smile nervously and your eyes drift down as he favours one leg. There's a red splotch growing on his khakis. You pop your brows up in concern.
"Er, think you got yourself good." You point and he looks down.
"God! I knew I shouldn't have worn these ones. I told May, dark colours!"
"Baking soda, maybe a bit of club soda," you assure him. "I got bandaids in my bag."
"You-- do?" He's surprised.
"Can never be too prepared," you smile. "Um, I guess..
We're in the way."
You glance around as you sense bodies heading up the steps, a few glancing your way.
"Uh, yeah, why don't we head inside," he takes a ginger step. "Uh, typical. My first day."
"It'll get better," you say.
"Hm, yeah, I guess it already has," he grins at you before he turns back up the steps.
"You need help?" You ask.
"No, no, I'm not a total disaster," he chuckles. "So," he clears his throat as you catch up to him, "what do you teach?"
"Oh," you repress a strike of embarrassment. Of course he would assume you're a professor, or a TA at the very least. It's obvious you have a few years on him and most of your classmates. "I'm a student."
"Nice," he nods, "wait, oh, gee, I didn't mean to imply-- ah, I'm sorry."
"No, no, it's fine. It's my second year. First year all the freshmen called me mom," you shake your head. "But that might be the bandaids in my bag."
"Maybe," he stops and squints, "right..." he points his finger around as he thinks, "this way."
You let him guide you. You don't need to be in class for another half hour. You follow him up to the second floor. That's where your class will be. Convenient.
When he stops at a door and digs around in his pocket, your heart drops. You look up at the room number as he takes out a set of keys and unlocks the door. You chew on your dismay.
He lets you in ahead of him. You wait patiently and he heads up to the podium. He leans on the table next to it as he unhooks his bag from over his shoulder. He sighs and peers down at his knee.
The pulls up the fabric and hisses. You approach as you sift through your bag. He bends his leg as he looks at the scrape. It's not that bad.
You take out the little pack of alcohol wipe from the little emergency pouch. How many times have you played mother hen to drunk coeds? You're prepared for it all.
"Wow, you got everything in that magic bag," he teases.
You squat down and wipe the blood away. As you peel the bandaid wrapper away, you scoff, "I'm a pack horse. Utterly terrified of forgetting anything important."
You cover the cut and run your fingers across the bandage to make sure it sticks. He winces.
"Sorry," you apologise as you stand and crumple up the wipe and wrapper.
You search around for the garbage and toss the waste. You fish again in your bag and take out your sanitizer. You squirt it onto your palm and drop it back through the open zipper. Your rub your hands together as he pulls his pantleg back down.
"Well, since you got my blood on your hands, I guess you should get a name too," he chuckles, "I'm Peter. Er, Professor Parker. Still getting used to that."
He offers his hand and you shake it, "Olive."
"Olive. Pretty. Er, interesting. Oh no," he pulls back, "I went through sensitivity training. Can I say that?"
"It's fine, professor. I'm not overly fond of the name myself," you shrug.
"Right, well," he bends his arm and tugs up his sleeve to check his apple watch. "I hope I didn't make you late."
"Well, actually, funny story," you scratch the side of your neck, "I'm enrolled in Physics 2."
He tilts his head and his lips part on disbelief, "you're joking."
"Nah, it's not exactly my favourite subject but I'll do my best," you say, "but er, if you need to get set up, I can wait in the hall."
"What? No. You're early. Make sure you get the best seat," he insists. "I will say the front row is where you wanna be but I was a student not too long ago and I won't be insulted if you sit in the back."
You laugh, "well, you know, I'm a late bloomer and these ears aren't so good." You kid, "front row's fine with me."
His grin lingers, awkwardly as his forehead lines and he tries to come up with a response. You smile, "I'll go sit down."
You give a little wave and go to find a seat. You settle in with your bag in your lap and slid out your notebook and the box of fresh pens. You tried your laptop for notes but you just find your eyes hurt from the blue light.
You tuck your bag under your seat and unfold the small desk from the arm rest. As you peel back the cover of your notebook, your ears tingle. You glance over as Peter-- Professor Parker, peeks at you. You give a tense smile and pull out a pen, putting your focus back to your notebook.
At least if you do crappy, you might be able to charm yourself into at least a passing grade.

I love your trolls art style do you have any tips on how to draw like that? Especially if I want to draw John Dory with an oc or an existing troll?
Tumblr media
Ohhhhhh, JD is the hardest one... How I approach drawing any character is kinda the same way I would approach drawing any subject matter.
Shapes, shapes, shapes! ✨ The build blocks of everything. Nailing down how a character is built is the first step in getting them to look and act the way you want. Combining multiple shapes to get the desired body part until it becomes second nature with practice.
After that you need good clear posing; a lot easier said than done. It might take a lot of trail and error, this is where it's best to do a lot of loose messy sketches till you find one that works and toss the rest. The more detailed you are in a sketch, the worse it'll feel to toss it if it's just not working how you want, so working loose early is better.
If you're working on drawing a specific character, it helps to take a lot of observation notes 📝 I prefer to watch things in motion to get the feel on how to draw them, but I know others prefer a still image to reference. Just depends on your preferences.
JD is a square, squishy, stocky design of a character. Not especially tall; he's got the biggest mouth out of the bros which cause his face to be extra malleable with full on grins or grimaces. Good luck with those goggles. JD maybe be squishy as a marshmallow but those goggles sure aren't; they are solid and unyielding in their task at framing his face no matter the angle. Necessary to bring the design together but man they are a pain in the booty to get right.
Hopefully this helps. 🫠
